Why not ask from our International Student Advisor "Benny Quay" (bquay@uoguelph.ca) first.

Re:Canadian VISA extension - 2006/11/14 00:25 If by VISA you mean a TRV visa, ie one that will allow you to re-enter, then go to the CIC and download documents for a Temporary resident visa. It is not the same. You send it to the same place you send your studen visa renewl. If you can go to the USA and your student permit is not expired, you can do it in person at the embassy in BUffalo. You get it in the same day instead of waiting for 4 weeks.

Re:Canadian VISA extension - 2006/11/16 18:04 swsn is correct with the term `temporary resident visa' (TRV), commonly called an entry or re-enry visa.

You need to apply to the Canadian consulate in Buffalo. You do not have to go in person; you can do it by mail (Express Post). Processing time for you, Raj, will be 2 to 3 weeks. For students from certain countries, up to 5 weeks (a security factor). You cannot apply for this document from within Canada. However, if you have someone visiting, they can certainly apply to extend their visitor status from within Canada.

Google 'canadian consulate buffalo'. Spend at least one hour looking at the information. Fill in the application form and collect all the documents as per the checklist then make an appointment with me.
